Sunflower oil contains vitamins E and A as well as lecithin. The oil has a high content of linoleic acid.
In cosmetics the nourishing and protective qualities of sunflower oil are highly regarded. The ratio of saturated to unsaturated fatty acids together with fatbyproducts lecithin and vitamin E makes sunflower oil a light, non-greasing but pleasantly nourishing oil.
Virgin sunflower oil is an easily digestible edible oil. The oil has a mild, pleasant taste and a high content of linoleic acid.
Sunflower oil is also popular in naturopathy, especially in oil pulling.
